Frozen Mixed Berry Smoothie

Super Simple Mixed Berry Smoothie | Tried & Twisted

Life doesn't always have to be complicated. Sometimes, the simple things can create dramatic results.

Spring season is here and winter hibernation is over. As soon as the winter gray leaves, I crave healthy delicious salads, fruit, and long runs at the park. Such little changes really add up and shave off the lethargic winter body. Each quick change adds up to a big difference.

One quick little recipe to keep trim and fit while not wasting any time is this Super Simple Mixed Berry Smoothie. It only takes four ingredients and five minutes for a refreshing icy treat that really hits the spot after a long run.

Frozen Mixed Berry Smoothie | Tried & Twisted

Super Simple Mixed Berry Smoothie Recipe
1 cup frozen mixed berries
2 cup yogurt
1 tablespoon honey
1/4 - 1/2 cup of water (to your preferred consistency)

Throw the frozen berries into the blender first and pulse to break up the frozen berries into finely ground pieces. You can freeze your own berries or you can buy frozen mixed berries available in the frozen section of most grocery stores.
Add and blend the yogurt and honey.
Add water as needed to thin the smoothie. If you like a super thick smoothie, then you may not need to add water.

Frozen Berry Smoothie | Tried & Twisted

Rating of Difficulty: 1 out of 5. Smoothies are easy to make, but by using frozen berries, you don't even have to worry about washing or slicing fruit. A simple part of a complete breakfast!

Enjoy! What's your favorite quick snack to help you stay healthy?

  5. My 7 year old loves smoothies....we usually just do frozen fruit and milk (and sometimes I throw some protein powder in there to make it more filling for him)....I'll have to try it with yogurt instead sometime :)

    1. Milk and fruit works great too. I do that from time to time too. I prefer my smoothies to be a little thicker, so they have a texture more like ice cream, but are still healthy. Hope your kid enjoys!
